Vehicle Wrapping & Vinyl Film Removal

Vehicle Wrapping

Vehicle wrapping is a process of covering a vehicle’s original paint with a vinyl or graphic film to change its appearance, protect the original paint, or advertise a business.

Vehicle wrapping is a popular choice for personalization, branding, or temporary promotions.

Vehicle wrapping offers several benefits, including:

Customization

Vehicle wraps come in a wide range of colors, patterns, textures, and finishes, allowing for almost limitless design possibilities. This makes it an ideal choice for personalizing a vehicle to your liking.

Protection

Vinyl wraps provide a layer of protection to the vehicle’s original paint. They shield the paint from minor scratches, UV rays, and road debris, which can help maintain the vehicle’s resale value.

Advertising

Many businesses use vehicle wraps as a cost-effective and mobile advertising solution. A well-designed vehicle wrap can turn a car, truck, or van into a moving billboard, helping to promote brand awareness and reach a broader audience.

Vinyl Film Removal

Removing automotive vinyl film can be a challenging but necessary task, especially when you want to change the look of your vehicle or if the wrap has become damaged or worn.

Here are a few steps for removing automotive vinyl film safely and effectively:

Prepare the Work Area

Work in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors, to avoid inhaling fumes from the heating process.

Heat the Vinyl

Begin by using a heat gun or a hairdryer with a heat gun attachment. The heat softens the adhesive, making it easier to peel off. Keep the heat source moving to avoid overheating and damaging the paint.

Peel Off the Vinyl

Once the vinyl is heated, carefully, slowly, and steadily peel back the vinyl film. Pulling too hard or fast can damage the underlying paint.

Remove Residue

After the vinyl film is removed, you will be left with adhesive residue on the vehicle’s surface. Adhesive remover is used to remove residue by following manufacturers instructions.

Clean the Surface

Once the adhesive residue is gone, clean the entire surface with a mixture of warm water and soap or a dedicated vinyl cleaner.

Final Clean-Up

Ensure the surface is free of any remaining adhesive or contaminants by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.

Inspect for Damage

After cleaning, inspect the vehicle’s paint for any damage that may have occurred during the vinyl film removal process. Minor scuffs or scratches can often be polished out, but more severe damage may require professional repair.
